Workspaces are a new framework for organizing your work within Magna. Workspaces enable users to manage all of their projects, adjust org-wide permissions, and oversee billing in one place. They also allow our clients to have a single view across all Magna products including Vesting, Airdrops, Staking, Grants, Custody and soon Treasury.
Since inception, clients have managed their work within Magna using Projects. When we launched Token Vesting, our first product, a single Project was all you needed to manage your allocations. However, this has changed as our clients and our product offerings have scaled. After onboarding 150+ clients and supporting them across 300+ Projects, 4 million+ claims and 5 new product lines, we have observed clear patterns emerge on how users organize their often numerous projects. These patterns prompted us to build a broader framework to give our clients more flexibility in managing their work across different products and entities.
Prior to Workspaces, we noticed teams who use multiple products (ex. airdrops and vesting) or who need to restrict user access for different sets of allocations (ex. investors vs employees) would manage them in separate projects that had no way to share data with each other. This setup worked short-term but would leave users with no easy way to share schedules, track their total allocations or track their cross-project token cap table. Workspaces allow us to solve these challenges and ultimately drive a more enterprise experience for our increasingly sophisticated user base, because your back office should scale with you.
As our product suite continues to expand, workspaces will become the backbone of keeping the experience of using magna smooth. Regardless of whether you are using us for just token vesting or to power every back office operation in your foundation.
What this means for existing clients.
Your existing projects will automatically be moved into Workspaces, grouped by their billing accounts. Workspace admins will be automatically assigned from admins who already had full access to those projects. In upcoming releases, we will enable workspace admins to be able to create new projects, subscribe to new products, monitor plan usage and manage billing details directly from their workspace.
